Mike Bechard and Sharon Good of Lone Wolf Clubhouse presenting David Bishop (Chairperson – Windsor-Essex Chapter of the MS Society of Canada) with a cheque for $3802 raised in the 1st annual Ride for MS on Sept 20 2009.
On behalf of the MS Society of Canada (Windsor-Essex Chapter) Board Members and Chapter Members alike, I wish to give a “SPECIAL” thank you to the Lone Wolf Clubhouse, Stars of the Game (Rob Delicata), Viscount Custom Cabinetry (Morris Viscount) and all those who participated in the Ride for MS - Poker Run, on Sunday, September 20, 2009! What a wonderful day this was!
This event, in its 1st year made an amazing $3,802.00 dollars which will be used to assist those with MS in a number of ways; assistance with the purchase of much needed assistive devices and a host of special programs that will enhance the quality of their lives! There were many that raised funds for us by collecting pledges, by participating in the fun and games of the day and riding on a fantastic ride throughout Essex County, all for a good cause! Each and every one of you was a key to making this event the success that it was! KUDOS to all of you!
We look forward to working with you, in the future, to make this event an Annual Event and welcome each and every one of you as Friends of the MS Society of Canada.
Yours Truly,
Shar Good - MS Society of Canada (Windsor-Essex Chapter)
Board of Directors, Director of Communications and LWC Member at Large

Organizers of the 6th Annual Humane Society Poker Run raise $1614
Everything ran extremely smoothly and all of the participants seemed to enjoy the day – thank you weather gods! As D’Arcy mentioned, a total of $1,614 was donated to the Humane Society as a result of your planning and execution of the event – thank you!
I am also pleased that you have decided to dedicate future runs to Stan Kuron’s memory – he must have been a very special man and very much loved by his riding friends. We will be honoured to have his name associated with ours at future runs.
So, congratulations on an extremely successful event this year, and I look forward to being more involved in helping next year.
Sincerely,
Julie Bortolotti

**Bill 117 - Prohibiting Child Passengers (Under 14 years)**
Bill 117 introduced by MPP Helena Jaczek (Oak Ridges-Markham) to prohibit carrying passengers under 14 passed second reading in the legislature late last year. It now moves on to the Justice Policy committee. Please make sure your MPP knows your dissatisfaction with this bill. The Motorcycle and Moped Industry Council has petitions, a letter and a postcard you can download and send to your MPP. Make your voice heard. Go to www.mmic.ca

**Bill 117 - Finished**
On March 8th 2010 after receiving official confirmation from Susan Sourial of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario; on or after March 4th 2010, during prorogation, Bill 117 was not carried forward and so they declared it "dead on the order paper". This is an expression and not a formal terminology.
If “Bill 117” were ever to be re-issued it would be with a new number (highly unlikely it would be numbered 117 again) and re-introduced in the House with a First Reading. And then it would go through the same stages - Second Reading debate; if it passes Second Reading, referral to a Committee; if it passes through Committee, Third Reading and then Royal Assent. There is nothing to prevent a Member from re-introducing a bill (with a new number) that was not carried over from a previous session.
In closing, appreciative support be passed along to our members, and to make mention to our friends and associates in the United States and abroad, that Ontario no longer has a pending law in place to ban motorcycle passengers under the age of 14, or the interest to do so at this time with the end of Bill 117.
